Wiley and the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPCAS) award the Wiley-IPCAS Prize for Excellence in Psychological Science each year from 2012. The Prize has been inaugurated to promote psychology scholarship in China. It consists of US$5000 and is awarded to the best article written by a Chinese or China-based researcher published in PsyCh Journal or Acta Psychologica Sinica for that year.

1. Aims and scope

PsyCh Journal, China's first international psychology journal, publishes peer reviewed research articles, research reports and integrated research reviews spanning the entire spectrum of scientific psychology and its applications. PsyCh Journal is the flagship journal of the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences - the only national psychology research institute in China - and reflects the high research standards of the nation.

Launched in 2012, PsyCh Journal is devoted to the publication of advanced research exploring basic mechanisms of the human mind and behavior, and delivering scientific knowledge to enhance understanding of culture and society. Towards that broader goal, the Journal will provide a forum for academic exchange and a ldquo;knowledge bridgerdquo; between China and the World, by showcasing high-quality, cutting-edge research related to the science and practice of psychology both within and outside of China.

PsyCh Journal features original articles, of both empirical and theoretical research in scientific psychology and interdisciplinary sciences, across all levels, from molecular, cellular and system, to individual, group and society. The Journal also publishes evaluative and integrative review papers on any significant research contribution in any area of scientific psychology.

Frequency: 3 times per year

2. Editorial review and acceptance

The acceptance criteria for all papers are the quality and originality of the research and its significance to our readership. Except where otherwise stated, manuscripts are double-blind peer reviewed by two anonymous reviewers and the Editor. Final acceptance or rejection rests with the Editorial Board, who reserves the right to refuse any material for publication.

Manuscripts should be in a clear, concise, direct style. Where contributions are judged as acceptable for publication on the basis of content, the Editor and the Publisher reserve the right to modify typescripts to eliminate ambiguity and repetition and improve communication between author and reader. If extensive alterations are required, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.

4. Manuscript preparation

(i) title page, (ii) abstract and keywords, (iii) text, (iv) acknowledgments, (v) references, (vi) notes, (vii) tables, (viii) figures, (ix) appendix and (x) supplementary information.

Parts of the manuscript

The present address of any author, if different from that where the work was carried out, should be supplied in a footnote on the title page.

The title should be short, informative and contain the major key words. Do not use abbreviations in the title. A short running title (less than 40 characters) should also be provided.

Abstract and keywords
Original articles must have a structured abstract that states the purpose, basic procedures, main findings and principal conclusions of the study. Review Articles should have a similarly concise but informative abstract. The abstract should be 300 words or fewer, and should not contain abbreviations or references.

At least three keywords, for the purposes of indexing, should be supplied below the abstract.

All citations mentioned in the text, tables or figures must be listed in the reference list.

Notes
Notes should be placed as a list at the end of the paper only, not at the foot of each page. They should be numbered in the list and referred to in the text with consecutive, superscript Arabic numerals. Keep notes brief and few in number: they should contain only short comments tangential to the main argument of the paper and should not include references.

Tables

Type tables on a separate page with the legend above. Legends should be concise but comprehensive - the table, legend and footnotes must be understandable without reference to the text. Vertical lines should not be used to separate columns. Column headings should be brief, with units of measurement in parentheses; all abbreviations must be defined in footnotes. Statistical measures such as SD or SEM should be identified in the headings.

Each figure should be supplied as a separate file, with the figure number incorporated in the file name. For submission, low-resolution figures saved as .jpg or .bmp files should be uploaded, for ease of transmission during the review process. Upon acceptance of the article, high-resolution figures (at least 300 d.p.i.) saved as .eps or .tif files should be uploaded. More information about figures is available on
Author Services.

Figure legends. Legends should be concise but comprehensive - the figure and its legend must be understandable without reference to the text. Include definitions of any symbols used and define/explain all abbreviations and units of measurement.

Appendices
These should be placed at the end of the paper, labeled as specified in the APA Publication Manual (section 2.13), and referred to in the text. If written by a person other than the author of the main text, the writerrsquo;s name should be included below the title.

Supporting Information
Supporting information is not essential to the article but provides greater depth and background and may include tables, figures, videos, data sets, etc. This material can be submitted with your manuscript, and will appear online, without editing or typesetting. Guidelines on how to prepare this material and which formats and files sizes are acceptable can be found on the

6. Post-acceptance

Author Services

Author Services is a Wiley-Blackwell service that provides useful information for authors, enables authors to track accepted articles through the production process, enables authors to gain free access to their published articles and nominate up to 10 colleagues to be provided with free access to their published articles.

Early View

PsyCh Journal offers rapid speed to publication using Wiley-Blackwellrsquo;s Early View service. Early View articles are complete full-text articles published online in advance of their publication in a printed issue. Articles are therefore available as soon as they are ready, rather than having to wait for the next scheduled print issue. Early View articles are complete and final. They have been fully reviewed, revised and edited for publication and the authorsrsquo; final corrections have been incorporated. Because they are in final form, no changes can be made after online publication. The nature of Early View articles means that they do not yet have volume, issue or page numbers, so Early View articles cannot be cited in the traditional way. They are therefore given a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which allows the article to be cited and tracked before it is allocated to an issue. After print publication, the DOI remains valid and can continue to be used to cite and access the article. More information about DOIs can be found here.

Online Open

Online Open is available to authors of primary research articles who wish to make their article available to non-subscribers on publication, or whose funding agency requires grantees to archive the final version of their article. With Online Open the author, the author's funding agency, or the author's institution pays a fee to ensure that the article is made available to non-subscribers upon publication via Wiley Online Library, as well as deposited in the funding agency's preferred archive. For more information, please read the full list of terms and conditions.

Prior to acceptance there is no requirement to inform the Editorial Office that you intend to publish your paper Online Open. All Online Open articles are treated in the same way as any other article. They go through the Journal's standard peer-review process and will be accepted or rejected based on their own merit.

Offprints

The Publisher shall provide 20 paper offprints to the first-named Contributor. Additional offprints may be ordered online from COS Printers. If you have queries about offprints please email COS Printers.
